Security for universities, colleges and schools

Access control, CCTV, ANPR and PSIM systems for open sites with thousands of students, staff and visitors moving through them every day, designed to keep buildings welcoming without leaving them unguarded.

Anyone can walk onto your site

Anyone can walk in. Most of the time it is a parent, a delivery driver or a student from another building. When it is not, you will be asked who they were, how they got in, where they went and what you had in place at the time. Those are hard questions to answer from a sign-in book.

Education-1

Expected to know every visitor and contractor on site

You are expected to identify every visitor, decide what level of supervision they need and be able to evidence both. Most visitors need to be identified, badged and kept with someone who knows they are responsible for them. Contractors who are on site regularly are a different case, and the checks behind them belong on the central vetting record an inspector asks for early.

Education-2

Getting everyone behind a door in seconds

If something happens on site, you may need to get hundreds or thousands of people into the nearest safe building and hold them there, in minutes. Doors have to lock and stay locked against anyone trying to get in, while anyone inside can still get out, and someone has to be able to trigger it from anywhere on the site.

Education-3

Your team is the first to arrive to the crisis

Your security and campus safety staff are the first to a fight, a medical emergency or a person in crisis, often alone and at night. They need someone watching, a way to call for help that works everywhere on the estate, not only where the signal happens to be good, and a record of what actually happened afterwards.

How ATEC protects the education sector

Know who is in, and be able to show it

Doors, cameras and alarms across every building report into one place. At any moment you can see who has badged in, which building they went into and when. If something goes wrong, the same system gives you the timeline: which door opened, what the camera saw, when your team got there. One audit trail, in one export.

Visitors identified, supervised, logged

Visitors are registered before they arrive, issued a pass that says what they have access to and who is responsible for them, and every use of it is recorded. Contractors are given access only to the areas, and for the hours, that the job needs. You are left with a live list of who is on site and a record that holds up afterwards.

Lockdown from anywhere on site

Access control can put the whole site, or one building, into lockdown from a phone, a desk or a panel, with escape routes unaffected and a manual release on every door that sits on the route. The right cameras come up automatically, giving the control room a view of where people actually are. You can run drills on the same system and get a report back afterwards.

Nobody responds on their own

An officer heading to an incident is watched from the control room, picked up camera to camera along the route. Staff working alone carry a duress alarm that opens a line to the control room the moment it is pressed, with their location attached. Afterwards the recording protects your own staff and holds anyone else to account.
