Allied Telesis
Allied Telesis
Flexibility. Reliability. Security.
Allied Telesis designs and manufactures their own hardware and operating systems
Founded in Japan in 1987 and headquartered in Tokyo, Allied Telesis supply networking infrastructure worldwide. Unlike most competitors, they design and manufacture their own switches and write their own network operating system, AlliedWare Plus, serving over a million customers, from individual businesses to large government and enterprise networks.
Why does ATEC partner with Allied Telesis?
Industry leading resilient network infrastructure with excellent compatibility
We partner with Allied Telesis because they manufacture their own switches and write their own operating software, which means fewer compatibility surprises when we’re building the network backbone for a customer’s CCTV and access control system. Their Autonomous Management Framework also simplifies managing a large, multi-site network, which matters considerably on complex installations.

Allied Telesis' strengths in detail
Build their own network operating system
Allied Telesis designs and manufactures its own switches and writes its own network operating system, AlliedWare Plus, and runs it consistently across its switching range. This provides reliable hardware and a single, familiar interface and feature set across the network.
Autonomous management framework
Allied Telesis’ Autonomous Management Framework automates routine network tasks, including configuration backups, firmware updates and device recovery, across every switch in a network. When running complex, multi-site security systems, this considerably reduces the ongoing management burden compared with configuring and monitoring each switch individually.
Industrial and ruggedised switches
Allied Telesis offers switch ranges specifically designed for harsh or outdoor conditions, including extreme temperatures and industrial environments. For customers with equipment in plant rooms, outdoor cabinets or exposed locations, this means the network backbone is built for the environment it’s actually operating in, rather than a standard office-grade switch pushed beyond its limits.
Self-defending network provides automatic isolation
Allied Telesis’ Self-Defending Network technology can automatically isolate a compromised or infected device from the network within moments of detecting a threat. For customers running critical, always-on security systems, this gives a genuine layer of automated protection, rather than relying solely on a security team to notice and respond manually.
VMS integration
partnerships
Allied Telesis has established integration partnerships with video management system providers including Hanwha Vision and Digital Watchdog. For our customers, this means the network infrastructure and the video surveillance software have already been tested to work together, reducing the risk of unexpected compatibility issues once a system goes live.
Over 35 years
of experience
Allied Telesis has been designing networking infrastructure for more than 35 years, and now serves more than a million customers worldwide. For customers investing in a network to support their security systems, that longevity gives confidence the business will still be supporting and developing its products well into the future.
