Local Government

Security for councils and public space

Public space surveillance, access control, ANPR and analytics that keep watching, so a small team can cover a whole city and have the evidence to hand when something happens.

Cameras are cheap. Watching them is not

You can usually find capital for cameras, but it is harder to find revenue for the person sitting in front of them in the middle of the night. Hours get trimmed, posts go unfilled and a system quietly becomes something you look at after an incident rather than during one. The equipment is doing its job, but nobody is watching.

Local-Government-1

Footage that becomes evidence the police can actually use

When something happens in the town centre, what matters is whether the images stand up. A face nobody can identify, a plate too soft to read, or a camera that was pointing the other way, and a case that should have been straightforward quietly goes nowhere.

Local-Government-3

Enforcement only works with evidence

You have a duty to clear fly-tipping from the land you are responsible for, and powers, rather than a duty, to pursue whoever did it. Either way the clearance bill lands on you. Without a usable image of the vehicle and the plate, the cost is simply absorbed. With one, you have a registered keeper to trace and the start of a case.

Depots and yards, quiet and unwatched

Depots, vehicle compounds and recycling centres sit empty and out of sight overnight, full of fuel, metal, plant and the vehicles your services depend on. A fire or a stripped yard doesn’t just cost money, it takes bin lorries and gritters off the road the next morning. Your insurer will also want to know what was in place when you come to claim.

How ATEC protects the local government sector

Let the system watch and assist operators

Analytics are not a replacement for a human operator, but aid in watching, so your operators don’t have to. Instead of scanning ninety screens hoping to catch something, the system flags someone in a place they should not be, a vehicle parked where it should not be parked, or one driving the wrong way along a one-way street, and brings that camera up in front of whoever is on shift.

Images that stand up as evidence

Every camera is specified for the job it has to do: identification at a doorway, recognition along a street, an overview of a square. Coverage, lighting, lenses and storage are all parts of that specification and how long you hold footage has to be justified and written down, which is what sets the storage requirements. An image only matters if it holds up when someone needs it.

Catch the tipper, recover the cost

Redeployable cameras and ANPR cover the lanes and back roads that get hit repeatedly, reading the plate as well as recording the act. Analytics can alert on a vehicle stopping where nothing should be stopping. A plate gives you the registered keeper of a vehicle and your enforcement team ends up with a package they can act on.

Depots covered overnight

Detection on the fence line and thermal cameras across the yard pick someone up as they arrive in the dead of night. Analytics separate a person climbing in from a fox crossing the compound, and access control limits gates, fuel and stores to the people who should have them, with a log of who went where.
